I'm Kate, the owner of Batches, where everything is made from scratch with love. Baking runs in my blood—my grandfather was a baker, and many of my earliest memories are tied to being in the kitchen with him, watching the baking of family birthday cakes and gingerbread houses.

I studied Baking and Pastry Arts at George Brown College and have spent nearly a decade in the hospitality industry, honing my craft and deepening my love for creating food that brings people together.

These days, you’ll find me doing a bit of everything—mixing dough, decorating cakes, managing orders, and making sure every detail in the shop reflects the heart behind it.

At Batches, we carry on my family’s legacy by blending time-honored recipes with high-quality, local ingredients to craft baked goods that feel like home.
